Air Mauritius has recently added a new ATR72-500 aircraft to its fleet that is likely to add more capacity on the Air Mauritius flights. The plane, delivered on December 20th was ferried to Mauritius from Toulouse via stopovers in Cairo, Djibouti, and the Seychelles.
Air Mauritius ATR72-500 is equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW 127M engines and will replace one of the existing ATR72-500 aircraft. The new ATR72-500 leased from Nordic Aviation Capital has a configuration of 72 economy class seats and will provide additional capacity on the inter-island routes (Reunion and Rodriques) during the peak season (December to January).
The airline’s acting CEO, Andre Viljoen, stated at this occasion:
“We are very proud to welcome this brand new aircraft to our turbo-prop fleet. This is the first ATR72-500 aircraft painted in the new Air Mauritius livery. The interior cabin also displays a new look and feel reflecting the Mauritian ambiance in-flight. We trust that our customers and partners will be pleased with this improved offering on our inter-island network.”
Air Mauritius is based in Port Louis and offers cheap flights to Mauritius from worldwide destinations including UK (from Heathrow airport). Also, the airline offers flights to Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Paris, Munich, Frankfurt, Perth, Melbourne, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Nairobi and many Indian cities as well.
